It’s flu and cold season again. You could get a flu shot; take synthetic vitamin C, over the counter cold remedies, and canned chicken soup. This won’t keep you from getting sick, but it may make you sick.
Is the flu shot worth it?
Our government encourages us to ‘get the flu shot’ but fails to remind people of the danger. It can cause Guillianne-Barr syndrome (a life threatening neurological condition) in some, and Tamiflu (an influenza drug) may cause abnormal behaviour such as delirium, self-injury and even suicide.
Approximately 13% of the population will get the flu this season. For anywhere from 1-7 days they will experience: fever, headache, muscle aches, cough and runny nose. People can die from the flu, such as infants, elderly or immune compromised. Healthy adults don’t.
Studies show vaccinating healthy adults reduced their chances of developing flu-like illness by only a quarter. Many get flu-like symptoms from the shot itself. This lasts 3-6 days; why not stimulate your immune system instead?
An antioxidant rich diet, stress relief, washing hands, rest, and immune enhancing herbs and tonics are the best ways to fight infection. See a nutritionist or homeopathic herbalist to help you with your dietary needs, A quantum biofeedback specialist can instruct you in relaxation techniques and help you de-stress your body.
Stress will increase your chances of getting sick.
When a body is under stress (good and bad stress), it’s out of balance like a zigzag as opposed to a straight line. A zigzag body has a harder time getting nutrients, energy, and all the ‘good stuff’ flowing where they need to go and an even harder time getting the ‘bad stuff’ out. The more stressed and out of balance you are, the sicker you get when influenza or cold viruses attack. A quantum biofeedback specialist, for example, will measure your body’s reaction to stress and help you balance.
There are better options for cold sufferers
Over the counter remedies mask symptoms, they don’t alleviate them. Synthetic vitamin C/ascorbic acid is just one part of the Vitamin C complex and cannot be absorbed unless it pulls the missing parts from your tissues. Incomplete Vitamin C circulates through the body until flushed out in urine. Whole food vitamin C or acerola cherries are much better choices. Canned chicken soup’s high sodium content can raise cholesterol. Many companies don’t use chicken bones, where a lot of the health benefits come. Better to ask your biofeedback specialist, nutritionist or grandma for a healthy homemade recipe and cook your own.
Staying healthy this season is not that hard. Spend your time and money wisely. Go to a qualified quantum biofeedback specialist, homeopathic doctor, or naturopath and get the right formula for your health. Remember to relax and slow down and you’ll be healthier and stronger, missing fewer workdays than with that phoney flu-shot.
