No matter what age you are, everyone wants to be healthy and take care of themselves. For some, there are hurdles to good health such as: chronic pain, stress, allergies, migraines, digestive problems, menstrual issues, emotional and/or sleep disorders plus heredity. Sometimes it becomes harder to get healthier when the media keeps changing the messages. Coffee, wine, fat, protein, calories, low impact…all these terms keep contradicting themselves until we no longer know what is true.
Did you know?
- Every being on the planet (including animals) has their very own energetic fingerprint that sets us apart making each and every one of us, unique.
- The reason all these messages keep contradicting is that what may be good for some is not necessarily good for everyone, especially not for you.
- The more we learn about health and wellness we discover that everyone needs to learn what THEIR BODY needs not what EVERYBODY needs.
Have you ever been compared to a car? ‘If you put bad fuel into the car, it might run but eventually the bad stuff will clog the engine’. Imagine for a moment, we are not simply cars but the entire roadway. If the traffic systems work in concert, then the flow of traffic will be steady and easy. Sometimes, there are just too many cars on the road. If the city can anticipate this, they may open additional routes and lanes to make sure that the ‘rush hour’ passes through quicker. Sometimes there are outside forces affecting traffic, like weather, freak accidents. You might find blockages on your roadway, a truck spill or construction. These require detours or else traffic is at a standstill. The cars start honking, drivers get frustrated, there may even be some road rage, accidents etc.
This is your body. Food is like cars; some drive right through your system while other clog it up and break it down. Outside stressors, like weather affects traffic, may cause your system to function slower and harder than it should. Chronic back pain, like burning, sharp pain, pins and needles, or throbbing, suggest blockages to the spine, like a stalled car or toxic spill, requiring a detour. At first you may feel a strong ‘ouch!’ and then it sort of levels off. This is the body communicating with you (spill on isle three) and self correcting the problem (making a detour) but not cleaning up the roadway.
So what do we need to do? We need to know what are the best nutrients to put in our bodies that won’t break down, stall etc. We need to make sure there are no blockages in our bodies. We need to reduce stress, the number one killer in North America! We need to listen to our bodies and understand what it’s telling us. We need to solve the problem not accept detours and traffic jams.
When every road in your body is clear of debris and traffic is running smoothly, things are ‘balanced’. The scientific medical term for this is called homeostasis, which means stable. Homeostasis comes from the Greek homoios meaning ‘same’ and stasis which means ‘to stand’. So when things are ‘standing the same’ or are ‘balanced’ you are feeling good and are well on your way to ‘good health’. |
